WWE Statement On Coronavirus Effecting WrestleMania Week

With the threat of Coronavirus growing around the world, there have been some question marks of WWE WrestleMania 36 week, and the company has commented.

Multiple cases of the virus have been confirmed in Tampa, Florida, which is the location of WWE WrestleMania week this year, which sparked doubts over whether WWE would continue with the event.

This week has seen the upcoming James Bond movie be moved back to a November release due to the virus, and many sports fixtures have been postponed or played behind closed doors due to the threat.

However, in a statement released to ESPN, WWE confirmed there are no plans to cancel or postpone WWE WrestleMania 36 week as it stands.

“The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay. We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events.”
