Episode #6
— Michael Cole, Beth Phoenix and Renee Young run down the card as we get set to wrap up the second round of competition! Io Shirai in action, right now!
— Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, three fourths of the Four Horsewomen, were shown sitting ringside for the opening contest.
IO SHIRAI vs. ZEUXIS
The two locked up to get things started, as Io sent her opponent into the ropes and connected with a running dropkick. Zeuxis came right back and floored her with a rolling forearm shot and a low dropkick, sending the joshi phenom hard to the floor. She seemed to tweak her shoulder coming down and Zeuxis immediately went after it like a target, stretching her out with submissions and heavy kicks to the shoulder. Double knees connected in the corner, but she only got two.
Io fought back with kicks of her own and threw a huge dropkick into the corner. She did a stalling headstand on the top rope and came down with a double knee stomp, then got a big running start and squashed the lucha legend with a huge Meteora into the bottom turnbuckle. Zeuxis tried to roll outside to take a breather, but Io wouldn’t let up and flew through the ropes with a tope suicida to take her out.
Things slowed down momentarily as Shirai worked over her opponent with submissions. She went for an armbar but Zeuxis somehow countered into a Michinoku Driver in a beautiful spot for a nearfall. Zeuxis went up top for a moonsault but crashed and burned, and Io caught her with a dropkick to the face. Now Io went up for a moonsault, but she couldn’t get it either. The two fought up on the top rope with Zeuxis looking for a Spanish Fly, but Io nailed her with an elbow strike and hit a Frankensteiner to send her flying. Double knees connected to the back of the neck, and this time the Asai Moonsault found its mark. 1…2…3.
