Despite his WrestleMania 32 appearance, John Cena isn’t cleared to return to full-time action just yet. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the latest word on Cena within WWE is that he’s expected back in May. He was originally expected to be cleared for July, but seems to be making good progress.
Cena was only cleared for limited in-ring action at WrestleMania, which is why he was allowed to get physical in his segment with The Rock. If Cena was ready, he very likely would have been The Undertaker’s replacement on WWE’s European tour.
The Observer reports that Cena is not currently expected to be at Payback on May 1st.
