Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein says she will continue her recount efforts despite a Wisconsin court rejecting her request for a recount by hand.

“Tonight’s ruling will not deter our efforts, and we will continue to work with the Wisconsin Elections Commission to see this recount through,” Stein said in a statement on Tuesday.
Stein filed a lawsuit Monday after the Wisconsin Elections Commission declined to order that the recount be completed by hand. Her campaign has insisted that a hand recount is the “only way to ensure we have a reliable recount of the vote.”
“Although we are disappointed with the court’s ruling, we are encouraged that the judge understands how important it is for Wisconsin and the country to count all ballots by hand, referring to this method as the ‘gold standard,’” the statement said.
Wisconsin state law says that it will be up to the individual counties to decide how they will handle the recount.
“We are calling on all counties to respect the will of Americans across the country and across the political spectrum, and follow the recommendation of the judge, and conduct a hand recount to ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of this election,” Stein said.
Stein’s campaign has filed for a recount in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and is expected to file in Michigan.
