L’acteur star du cinéma asiatique Simon Yam (64 ans) a été poignardé lors d’un événement promotionnel dans le sud de la Chine, le 20 juillet 2019. Aperçu notamment dans le film Lara Croft : Tomb Raider, le berceau de la vie (2003), l’acteur hongkongais a été agressé par un homme qui s’est précipité sur lui alors qu’il se trouvait sur scène à Zhongshan, dans la province de Guangdong.
L’assaillant a entaillé sa main droite et l’a poignardé au niveau du ventre (de l’estomac plus précisément). Très vite, les membres de la sécurité et quelques membres du public se sont jetés sur l’agresseur pour le maîtriser. Cette agression effrayante a été filmée par des spectateurs présents dans la salle. Le suspect quant à lui a été arrêté par la police.

The 64-year-old was a guest at the opening of a new Beijing Easyhome store in the city of Zhongshan, Guangdong province, when an assailant rushed at him wielding a knife. He arrived in Hong Kong late Saturday night and was admitted to Adventist Hospital. Zhongshan police on Saturday evening identified the suspect as a 53-year-old local resident surnamed Chen, who they said had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. He was detained at the scene.
