FC Nantes have confirmed the signing of 20-year-old Porto defender Chidozie Awaziem on a season-long loan.

The Nigerian, who was linked with various clubs including Premier League side Liverpool, will certainly bolster new manager Claudio Ranieri’s defensive ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Awaziem is naturally a centre-back, but Nantes could profit from utilising the youngster in a defensive-midfield role if needed.
It is the second signing under the Italian boss’ reign, and the second from Porto, following Joris Kayembe’s permanent move last week.
