Bordeaux have announced the signing of Danish international Lukas Lerager form Belgian club Zulte Waregem on a four-year-deal, with the fee believed to be around €3.5m.
The 23-year-old successfully completed and passed his medical this morning before signing his deal, which will take him up to June 2021.
Lerager has been described as a “multi-purpose midfielder” and has spent the past season in Belgium after coming through at multiple Danish clubs, in particular Viborg FF and Akademisk BK.
After 44 games this season, 29 of which in the Jupiler Pro League, Lerager comes to Ligue 1 with plenty of first team experience, despite his young age. With 160 professional games under his belt, Bordeaux have picked up a bargain and a very capable player in one of Europe’s top leagues.
