1/6/17 WWE Raw House Show Results from Columbus, GA
– The advertised Matches over the past month were , Reigns vs Owens for the
Universal Title, Rollins vs Rusev, Charlotte vs Sasha for the Raw Woman’s Title and
Cesero/Sheamus vs New Day vs Enzo/Cass vs Gallows/Anderson in a 4 way for the Raw
Tag Team Titles. There were a few changes to the card as the show went on.
Match 1) Triple Threat Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship- Champions Cesaro &
Sheamus defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, The New Day (Kofi & Big E w/Xavier
Woods) when Cesaro pinned Anderson after he held him up for the Brogue Kick by
Sheamus.
Match 2) Triple Threat Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Title- Champion Rich Swan
defeated T.J Perkins & Neville following a Standing Kick on Perkins.
Match 3) Bayley, Sasha Banks & Alicia Fox defeated Raw Woman’s Champion Charlotte
Flair, Nia Jax & Dana Brooke when Bayley pinned Dana after the Bayley to Belly
Suplex.
– Lana w/ Rusev cut her usual Heel promo by down talking America, praising her
husband and how he will take out Seth Rollins tonight.
Match 4) Seth Rollins pinned Rusev (w/Lana) following a Springboard knee to the face
and Pedigree. Rollins hit a Blockbuster 9 minutes into the match and Lana was
ejected for pulling the refs shirt as she argued with him. Rollins received a huge
pop while Rusev received much heat.
Match 5) The Golden Truth, Big Cass (w/Enzo) Sin Cara & Darren Young (w/ Mr.
Backlund) defeated The Shining Stars, Bo Dallas, Titus O’ Neil & Curtis Axel when
Cass pinned Bo following the East River Crossing. Afterward, Bo got the mic and said
he will not leave Columbus a loser and challenged anyone in the back who had the
guts to face him. The Big Show answered and KO’d him with a WMD then left.
Match 6) Braun Strowman defeated Sami Zayn following the Big Running Powerslam.
This wasn’t a total Squash as Sami delivered some offense.
– Kevin Owens came out and grabbed the mic stating that Columbus is a dump, and this
crowd is lucky they get to see not one Champion but two face each other tonight. As
per Stephanie McMahon, tonight the U.S Title will be on the line and after he wins
it, will go back to Canada and slap on a big Leaf and rename it the WWE Canadian
Championship! (Originally advertised for the Universal Title , but as always, the
card is subject to change)
Main Event : U.S Championship Match- United States Champion Roman Reigns defeated
WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens when Reigns countered the Pop Up Powerbomb into a
“Superman Punch” and Spear for the win. ROMAN was over with the crowd and celebrated
with fans afterward.
– Overall solid show with the a hot crowd all night. The Civic Center was half full.
