PSG have confirmed this morning that Italian international midfielder Marco Verratti has escaped with a mere sprained ankle after suffering an injury during the club’s 9-0 mauling of EA Guingamp yesterday afternoon.

Post-match, German coach Thomas Tuchel had been fearful that the injury would see Verratti miss Champions’ League action against Manchester United, but this now appears highly unlikely given the commonality of the injury as uncovered following MRI testing.
Verratti will undergo further tests on Monday to get a better idea of how long the Italian can be expected to be missing from action for Les Parisiens.
