L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Marseille signed a “rules agreement” 10 days ago with UEFA concerning their potential infringement of FFP regulations.
This deal signed obliges Marseille to remain within the confines of FFP, not overstepping the bar of a €30m deficit over the last 3 seasons.
Last season, OM were fined €100k for FFP infringements. But the DNCG has recently published Marseille’s accounts which indicate that as of 30th June 2018, Marseille had a €78.5m deficit. The next financial year, which will close at the end of this month, should indicate the same financial performance. This is a worrying situation for OM, who will not have Champions’ League or Europa League football next season to boost revenues.

OM are still under the purview of FFP, as it only doesn’t directly impact clubs that aren’t in Europe for 3 consecutive seasons.
As a result, OM need to find around €50m in player sales between now and the end of the month… time is ticking.
