LEINSTER AND IRELAND lock Devin Toner has today signed a new contract with the IRFU, keeping him in his home province for at least two more years.
The second row’s new deal will kick in when his old one expires next summer and will see him remain in Ireland until 2017.
The 28-year-old has won 20 caps for his country, and IRFU performance director David Nucifora credited his consistency in recent years.
“Devin has developed into an international level second row over the last few seasons. He has performed consistently at a high level for both Ireland and Leinster and is illustrating strong leadership skills in both the provincial and national environments.”
Toner meanwhile, was grateful to his province for providing him the means to achieve those levels of consistency.
“I have been with the province for almost a decade and during that time the club have invested a lot in my development and have given me the platform to reach my potential and achieve success at both provincial and national level.”
